We've created our first tutorial on camera fly throughs, a signature move used by me, Miren... I love helicopter shots, there pretty epic! I've spent quite some time perfecting them. This tutorial is quite long, I cover all the basic level knowledge and then I cover all the intermediate level. However if I was to cover the advance aspects of light wrap and other nifty things the tutorial would probably be 2 hours long! :|
Tell us what you think of the tutorial, pros and cons. There will be more to come so subscribe on YouTube!
Our popular film The Shot recently got into the finalists of the Reel 13 Tumblr Month Competition. It was down to public voting between The Shot and 2 other films to take the grand prize. On edge, the first day of voting saw us with 10 votes compared to our main opponent with 80 votes. With an enormous push from our fans and friends we managed to fight for glory getting support over the last 2 days of the voting period slowly but surely closing in on our rivals. We beat their vote count in the last few hours of the competition with a final tally of over 300!
As award for the win, our film was aired on PBS THIRTEEN, the flagship public media entity of the NYC Tri-state area! We captured a screen shot of the scheduling for our life scrapbook...

Hi guys! We had entered into the London sci-fi 48hour film challenge this year and we churned out an awesome film.
The challenge is basically to create a film from start to finish in 48 hours, there was no sleep on my half and I was pretty delusional at the end. Shaun Dent our writer was with us during the post production as my wake up man.. a job that entales waking me up... I literally couldn't think of anything more creative to say.
From the London Sci-Fi Website:
We will ask your team to come to the BFI Southbank on Saturday 6 April at 10.00am where we give you the TITLE of the film you will make, some DIALOGUE that one of your characters must say to screen, and a list of PROPS that must be seen in the film. We also give you an optional scientific theme... this could be nano-tech, cloning, gene-splicing...or something a little more "fringe".
Once you have all your elements, you have until Monday morning to return the completed movie to us.
Watch our completed film right here right now!
We recently created a promotional video for Emagine:Create a web developing company. Adding our signature cinematic touch, we managed to put an epic twist on basic web design at the start of the promo to draw the attention in.
The effect of objects flying into the screen to become part of the website was a completely original concept. Ripples were added as a finishing touch to make it seem like the objects were really interacting with the screen.
So, NASA discovered what could be the birth of a black hole. I won't go into detail talking about it because you can read it all here:
http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/chandra/multimedia/w49b.html

I love NASA and all things space related... so I- OH hey wait a second, how ironic I'm saying this and posting this now right after releasing a film called Astronut about someone going to space. Coincidental marketing, brilliant. Anyway, I really loved the image NASA released, and I found the different 'passes' that the image was formed with here:
http://news.cnet.com/2300-11386_3-10015754.html
It was made with various xrays and radio data to create each individual layer of the image. It looked pretty... so I wanted to create my own version of the image! I created individual compositions in After Effects for each layer of the image (Radio data, Xray, Chandra Xray & Optical View). Each composition is comprised of multiple layers of Trapcode Form. In total there are 59 layers of Trapcode Form!! Watch it below:
